The bathroom equipment and kitchen sector projects a 20% increase in sales for the third quarter

ARVET shows optimism about full recovery of the sector

The Spanish bathroom equipment and kitchen sector projects an increase in sales by 20% at the closure of the third quarter of 2020, compared to the same period last year, and after showing a decrease in figures by 24,3% in the second quarter this year.

These figures and forecasts for the upcoming third quarter were revealed by ARVET (Group of Spanish Exporting Enterprises – abbreviation based on its Spanish acronym) at the Congress of market intelligence and productivity, based on the analysis of the second quarter data, subtracted from the reports from the Market Observatory for the Bathroom Equipment and Kitchen sector (OMEBC in its Spanish acronym). A market research carried out by ARVET and its integrated associations ASEBAN and COFEARFE, in collaboration with the also Spanish AIDIMME.

The sector projects a quick and smooth recovery based on the V shaped results from the third quarter figures, with increased sales numbers of 20% and above, some of the associated companies even reported “it has been the best month of August of our company history in terms of sales figures”. The Director of ARVET, Manolo Herrera stresses “the forced lockdown situation we lived a few months ago has encouraged that people rediscover their homes and now are showing an increased interest in home improvement, in particular for bathrooms and kitchens”.
