In this eclectic restaurant in Lima, a bathroom has been recreated with a shared sink area dominated by a large communal-looking shelf. A detail complemented by a suggestive oriental aesthetic.
Open Bar is located in the heart of Lima's Miraflores district and is one of the most popular in Lima, Peru. The concept for the space was to create a gourmet bar with an eclectic style.
To achieve this, the space was completely renovated, generating new ways of experimenting with it around three different bars that formed the main focus of the design. The walls that separated the interior space from the exterior patio were removed to create a warmer, more integrated environment.
To add dynamism, the designer experimented with changing the scale of certain design objects. An example of this is the reinterpretation of the bathroom sink in the form of a large traditional bucket. The large wall of ornate glass mirrors enlarges the space and adds focal points. The floors and walls are clad in reclaimed wood.
Finally, artist Marko Franco Domenak was commissioned to create an oriental-themed graffiti on the opposite wall to complete the atmosphere. With all these guidelines in mind, a welcoming space with personalized details was created where visitors can feel comfortable and enjoy a pleasant evening.
