A conceptually innovative project that combines the pleasure and privacy of a house with a garden with the simplicity of an apartment. A highly functional structure combined with a series of energy-saving systems makes this project a model residence from a self-sufficient perspective. The residential project by the Caledonian real estate agency is located in the Somosaguas area of Madrid. Every space in the home enjoys natural light. Light control is precisely achieved through fully automated, adjustable and directional slats located above each window.
The exterior insulation of the façade provides a high level of thermal inertia, ensuring a constant temperature and minimizing energy costs. Unlike conventional systems, underfloor heating distributes heat according to the ideal needs of the human body: more heat from below and less from above. A silent system brings fresh, filtered air from outside to the bedrooms and living room, and extracts stale air from the kitchen and bathrooms. It improves air quality, balances ambient humidity, and prevents odors from spreading throughout the home. This ventilation is achieved without energy losses thanks to a heat exchanger. This innovative system also incorporates extraction from the restrooms.
With its elongated proportions, the solid oak from the Strasbourg forests provides a subtle richness to the spaces. Its unvarnished oil finish conveys a real sense of contact with the wood. The staircase is configured with steps constructed from solid oak, suspended in the air. The decor has been designed to emphasize the architectural design with a neutral color scheme and a selection of materials that support its understanding. The furniture has been custom-created for each space. Its carefully thought-out interior provides ample storage capacity in all rooms, including the master bathroom. The doors are lacquered and the interiors are clad in natural wood. All bathrooms are pristine white, in keeping with the design concept.
The Panoramah! carpentry is made with 20 mm profiles so thin they're barely visible, and the garden flows into the house. On the first floor, the single-pane windows, which are recessed into the wall, convey a clean and functional feel. The triple-paned safety glass also has an argon gas insulation chamber, a special "silence" acoustic butyral, and an invisible ionic treatment that blocks solar and heating radiation. The bathroom fixtures are by Duravit and the faucets by Vola. The finishes are Thassos marble, while Neolith was chosen for the secondary bathrooms.
