The Roca International design contest "jumpthegap" presents another record breaking edition
The competition counts with the participation of over 134 countries and more than 3.000 registered entries
The winners of the seventh edition of the renowned international design contest jumpthegap organized by the Spanish firm Roca, with the collaboration of BCD Barcelona Design Centre, that is looking for new, innovative and sustainable concepts for bathroom spaces, will be announced in the forthcoming month of October. A hugely successful edition this year, aimed at creative people who think towards the future whilst design today. It concerns a very special edition as it coincides with Roca´s 100th Anniversary celebration, that once again is beating all previous records in terms of level of participation and registered entries: this year´s results show more than 134 participating countries and more than 6,000 registered entries. In addition, the prize money for the student and professional categories are increased from 6,000 to €10,000 each, and the category of sustainable design, awarded by the We Are Water Foundation from Roca, increases from 3,000€ to €6,000.
Patrik Schumacher, director of Zaha Hadid Architects and President of the jury, is accompanied by important personalities from the world of design and architecture including: Josep Congost, Vladimir Pirojkov, Benedetta Tagliabue, Anjali Srinivasan, Isabel Roig, Valentin Vodev and Ma Yansong. The special prize category of the We Are Water Foundation will have a jury chaired by Xavier Torras (Spain), Director of the We Are Water Foundation; Sophie Thomas (United Kingdom), Director and founder of Thomas Matthews Agency; and Henk WJ Ovink, Special Delegate of the International Affairs of water of the Netherlands.
