The winners of the SBID international design awards 2016 were revealed on Friday 25 November at another beautiful ceremony at the home of the awards, the prestigious Dorchester hotel in London. With a 25% increase of entries, this year’s awards has been one of the most globally represented editions yet and included industry talent from 43 countries worldwide. Winners include LW, Bishop Design, British Council and II by IV and spans across 4 continents; including countries such as Austria, China, Kuwait, Canada, India, UAE and more.
Winning an SBID International Design Award is truly a high achievement as all 14 categories are assessed by a technical panel, the public vote and a panel of leading industry experts who look for outstanding examples of technical content and aesthetic creativity. Reaching its sixth year running, the SBID Awards is regarded as one of the highest accolades of interior design excellence, and continues to reward and celebrate outstanding projects and products from the industry at large. The Overall Winner Award, a category which holds the title as the ‘SBID choice’ was awarded to Adolfsson & Partners for the King - Sveavägen 44 office space (producers of the popular game Candy Crush) in Stockholm, Sweden. Others important winners of this year’s SBID International Design Awards are: -Hotel Design: Coop Creative for Elements of Byron, Byron Bay, Australia, and -Innovative Product Design: OIKOS GROUP for Vintage Metals.
