The Spanish bathroom, kitchen and accessories equipment sector expects to close the third quarter of 2020 with a 20% growth in sales compared to the same quarter of the previous year, after falling 24,3% in the second. This has been made clear during the ARVET (Spanish Group of Exporting Companies) Market and Productivity Business Forums, in which the sector's forecasts for the third quarter have been advanced after analyzing the second quarter data collected in the Bathroom and Kitchen Equipment Market Observatory (OMEBC). A study conducted by ARVET and its integrated associations ASEBAN and COFEARFE, in collaboration with the Technological Institute AIDIMME.
The bathroom, kitchen and accessories industry is expecting a rapid recovery, as sales in the third quarter have seen V-shaped growth, with increases of over 20%, and some companies are even emphasizing that "it has been the best August in their business history." According to the AIDIMME market analyst, Vicente Sales"Activity in the sector has suffered an initial demand shock, and over time there has been a change in spending habits and priorities, but that doesn't mean consumption has stopped." In this sense, Manolo Herrero, director of ARVET, noted that “the lockdown has made people rediscover their homes and is increasing interest in bathroom and kitchen renovations.”
