The Spanish Habitat Federation (FHdE) a new stage begins with the election of Pau AbellóThe president of AGRUBAÑO and director of Institutional Relations and Brand Reputation at Roca Group, has been appointed as the new president of the organization. The Federation faces this new cycle with the aim of consolidating its position as a platform representing the Spanish home furnishings industry before regional, national, and European administrations, strengthening its capacity for dialogue and advocacy for the shared interests of a sector that is strategic for the Spanish economy.

The Spanish home furnishings industry is one of the country's main industrial ecosystems. Comprising more than 18.000 companies in sectors such as furniture, lighting, home textiles, kitchens, bathrooms, faucets, home automation, and equipment for public and contract spaces, it generates a turnover exceeding €15.000 billion annually and directly employs more than 100.000 people.

It is a strategic industry for international sides and is playing an increasingly important role in areas such as sustainability, digitalization and the industrialization of construction.

The Spanish Habitat Federation was founded with the aim of bringing together the main associations and companies linked to the habitat sector to address the industry's common challenges in a coordinated manner. Now, under the leadership of Pau Abelló, the organization intends to strengthen its activities, expand its membership base, and consolidate its role as a platform for representation, cooperation, and the generation of proposals for the entire sector.

Currently, the Spanish Habitat Federation includes associations and companies representing areas such as furniture, lighting, home textiles, bathroom equipment, ceramics, wood and design, among them AGRUBAÑO, ATEVAL, FEDAI, AREMA, FAMO, AMC, FEVAMA, ANFACESA, Grupo Cosentino, Andreu World, Actiu, Antares Iluminación and Fama.

The Federation's main lines of work include digitalization, innovation and design; sustainability and circular economy policies; internationalization and global supply chains; business cooperation and cross-sector integration; attracting and retaining talent; and strengthening the internal market.

Pau Abelló's presidency will focus on re-establishing direct contact with public administrations to convey the sector's concerns and needs firsthand, while also promoting the expansion of the Federation's representation by incorporating new associations linked to the housing sector. Through this, the organization seeks to strengthen its role as the industry's unified voice, foster greater coordination between sectors and regions, and consolidate a more effective dialogue with key strategic stakeholders.
