OLI launches Voronoi, the new sustainable push button

Design, industrial engineering and materials science.

OLI VORONOI officially presents a new OLI cistern push button that is the result of the convergence between design, industrial engineering and materials science, placing the company at the forefront of sustainable bathroom solutions.

Inspired by the Voronoi mathematical diagram, which divides a plane or space into polygons or cells and is present in countless elements of nature, the solution adopts a faceted surface that gives it a distinctive visual identity and is technically efficient.

Its geometry has been optimized with structural folds that allow for a 20% reduction in raw material usage, while maintaining strength and durability. At the same time, the technical design intuitively positions the dual-flush buttons, ensuring clear, ergonomic, and comfortable interaction.

The result is a unique expression of functional design, where form and efficiency work together to maximize resources and enhance the user experience.

Innovation in science-based materials

In addition to its innovative design, VORONOI represents a breakthrough in materials. It is made of BIO ABS, a material with 50% content derived from renewable biological sources, such as plants, algae, and organic waste.

This push button is the result of a strategic collaboration with the University of Aveiro-Portugal, which collaborated in the product design and guaranteed the quality of the materials.

The goal was ambitious: to create a sustainable polymer that maintained the strength and performance standards of conventional ABS. The result was a success.

BIO ABS guarantees high mechanical performance, allowing OLI to move towards more sustainable, competitive industrial production aligned with the sector's environmental objectives.

Reduction of environmental impact and water efficiency

VORONOI is available in eight shades inspired by natural elements: Pure Glacier, Forest Terra, Arabic Stone, Burnt Terra, Urban Concrete, Organic Gold, Dark Carbon and Raw Umber.

By being integrated directly into the polymer, these colors do away with traditional metallic finishes, replacing an industrial process with a high environmental footprint with a more sustainable one.

With this approach, OLI simplifies production, reduces emissions and introduces a new way of working with color in the bathroom: more efficient, more sustainable and in line with international ecodesign standards.

From a water efficiency standpoint, VORONOI, when combined with cisterns equipped with PLUS technology, allows saving up to 0,5 liters of water per use, promoting responsible behavior in both residential and commercial spaces.

With this launch, the result of collaboration between industry and academia, OLI reinforces its position as an international benchmark, offering the market innovation, technical performance and sustainability.

VORONOI was developed within the framework of OLIPUSH, a project integrated into the ILLIANCE Agenda, financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) of the Government of Portugal.
