Kaldewei, the world's leading German company in enamelled steel bathroom solutions, has won the Award for Best Project at the XIV Casa Decor Awards 2026The highest recognition awarded by the official jury of the exhibition at its edition held at the Espacio Larra in Madrid. The jury highlighted the 'magnificent craftsmanship' and visual richness, inspired by the 70s, of the space. Kaldewei “Soft Force”, designed by the architecture and interior design studio *ILV Isabel López Vilalta.
The winning proposal is defined as a suggestive dialogue between contrasts: the industrial versus the feminine, the weight of the past versus contemporary lightness. “Soft Strength” explores the coexistence of tradition and innovation, using materials as a guiding thread. In the space, handcrafted ceramics provide texture and historical memory; marble introduces depth and nobility; while polished metal defines the most avant-garde and contemporary gesture. The project also benefited from the strategic collaboration of the following firms: Cupa Stoneexperts in natural stone, and Cevica, handcrafted ceramics.
The jury's verdict: visual richness and local reinterpretation
The jury for this edition —comprised of figures of the stature of the architect Ramón Esteve, The founders of the Zooco studio, designer Pablo Erroz, and specialized journalists Laura García-Barrios and Cruz Sánchez de Lara— has issued a unanimous verdict praising the technical and artistic quality of the proposal.
In its official assessments, the committee has emphasized "The exceptional work done with materials and textures within the same color range creates an atmosphere of great visual richness reminiscent of the aesthetics of the 70s."Furthermore, the experts wanted to highlight "The magnificent craftsmanship of the project and its ability to reinterpret and recover a local material, such as stone, with a contemporary perspective".
