Based on the latest available data, corresponding to the month of September, Ascer has indicated that exports will exceed 2.700 billion euros and sales in the domestic market will exceed 820 million euros. total sales will be around the 3.530 millones de euros, which is a 6,5% increase regarding 2016. According to Ramos, 2017 has been a year "with lights and shadows", as exports to America increased by 23%, to Asia by 3%, and to the European Union by between 2% and 7%. However, in Africa, sales fell by 8% due to the situation in the Mediterranean basin countries, where there was a 20% percentage drop. Prices have increased slightly—by 10%—and stand at an average of €1,3 per square meter. Despite the growth, for Ascer these prices are still "low compared to the competition." And finally, regarding the situation in the destination markets for ceramic products, Ascer states that they have grown. In the case of the United States, by 6,59%; Italy, by 24%; Mexico, by 15%; and Lebanon, by 33%. These figures contrast with traditionally importing countries of ceramic products, such as Saudi Arabia and Algeria, with falls of 17% and 14% respectively.
